Living Machines re-envision waste-water management as an eco-conscious endeavor, conserving water and reducing overall treatment costs with minimal sludge disposal, water purchases, sewer surcharges, and chemical use. Part natural and part man-made, "Living machines" offer a manner of re-organizing natural resources to transform water from dirty to clean. Rest of Story Continued.

This power Station is mobile and is an excellent back up system or power station for a remote area outside of eco village camps. For example, a desalination machine and a spa are located in a remote area and need remote power. The idea is to create local power sources. Think outside the box.

Need a ship that runs on the Sun?  Do not know pricing yet? How cool would it be to put sea water greenhouses inside and be sustainable out at sea.?

Desalination- The Power Of Community

seaprop.jpgThis Seapro 5000 unit from Ampac cost $30,000 and pumps out 5 thousand liters a day of sea water, on 7 kw an hour. If you want a unit that pumps out 100,000 liters a day do the math. $600,000.00. You have to include the cost of your watts. 200 watts cost $1300 for some Solar PV and then some Power storage kits will add $1000 bucks per family at 15 panels each gives 3000 watts. We need 750 panels to get to 100,000 liters. The solar pv could be used as shelter also. That is about a $1 million dollars of solar. So for a 2 million dollar investment there is your water and energy for a village. For the Seapro 5000, its going to cost $56,000 in Solar PV.
So if the Ecosutra village got 20 people at $100 grand each we get 100,000 liters instead of just 5000 liters a day. So you see, coming together provides more abundance. Same goes with the solar thermal concentrator, or the algae bio diesel plant.
I am prepared to jump into any lifeboat with 2000 people at $200 grand = $400 million each: on a Baja Mexico beach with people ready to build a theatrical, recreational, eco edible landscape spa resort. But for now, I plan on doing the $2 million dollar small project on my own. Developing....

PS. Treating the waste from desalination- from Fungi.com,
The waste from desalination is mostly sodium chloride with lots of other
salts, organic and in-organic material.  The problem with the material in
this form is the concentration.  If the material were diluted with other
substrates that were mushroom friendly like straw or wood chips this would
allow the fungi to begin to balance the PH of the entire "pile"
theoretically.

Air To Water Technology

The idea of collecting water from condensation is promising. In the desert the condensation is greatest. We can green deserts with condensation technologies on an industrial scale. Permaculture ecologists believe that by creating  micro climates we bring back the rains by planting a biodiversity forest in great numbers over time. In just 500 square miles of regeneration, the rains will come back.

Plug In America

Plug In America advocates the use of plug-in cars, trucks and SUVs powered by cleaner, cheaper, domestic electricity to reduce our nation's dependence on petroleum  and improve the global environment.

People need to know that a plug in vehicle is a plug in village. All you have to do is set up a transformer and each dome could be powered from a ethanal plug in hybrid vehicle. You could actually roam the prairies with one of these and convert switch grass into ethanol. Creating local food web base camps out in the prairie and create a small village commodity out of your vehicle. You only need a few other conversion kits to trail with.

Here is a mobile communications system able to handle thousands of phone calls and offering wireless connectivity for a range of up to 30 miles. When shipped for disaster relief, it uses the solar and optional wind power to filter 30 gallons per minute of contaminated ground water to WHO standards for drinking. ecosphere.jpg

The Seawater Greenhouse is a new technology that offers a sustainable solution to the problem of providing water for agriculture in arid, coastal regions.
